The Kremlin said on Tuesday it did not regard political tumult in Armenia, a close Russian ally, as a Ukraine-style revolution and was pleased that the situation there appeared stable for now, reported The Moscow Times. The statement is telling as a ‘color revolution’ is the one thing that scares the Russian government. In fact, an argument can be made that Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election was a direct result of the Hillary State Department which helped put 100,000 Muscovites in the streets in 2012, protesting against Russian President Vladimir Putin staying in office. Putin did not forget the slight, and if anything, Russian actions two years ago were against Hillary and not ‘for Trump’. Western NGOs were also kicked out of the Russian Federation due to their ‘meddling’, including George Soros and his many ‘Open Society’ organizations.

Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan was forced to resign after two weeks of massive protests in the capital Yerevan, demanding he be removed from his recent appointment as prime minister, after serving ten years as president.
“Now we see that the situation is not destabilizing, and we are satisfied,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, stressing that the events in Yerevan are a domestic affair of Armenia, which is Russia’s valuable partner, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

“We hope that order and stability will be preserved in the country and soon in the foreseeable future a political configuration will be shaped that will become a consensus for all forces representing the Armenian people,” he said.
Asked about a possible ‘color revolution’, similar to events in Ukraine, Peskov replied, “I would not draw any parallels, because this is a totally different situation, and one can hardly draw direct parallels here…of course, this situation [in Armenia] is yet to be analyzed, we are keeping a close eye on it.”
“Now I can say that any associations with Ukraine are inappropriate here.”
“No, the president has not so far had [contacts with Sargsyan or Karapetyan],” Peskov said
