REPORT: Turkey Detains Russian Ship Allegedly Carrying Stolen Ukrainian Grain

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar, is reporting the nation of Turkey has detained a Russian cargo vessel containing stolen Ukrainian grain.

According to maritime tracking data, the Russian-flagged cargo ship Zhibek Zholy was detained and has anchored off the Karasu Port, howeveer, its contents cannot be verified reported private intelligence firm Inkermann.

The port is on the Black Sea, near Istanbul.

“We have full co-operation [with Turke]. The ship is currently standing at the entrance to the port, it has been detained by the customs authorities of Turkey,” Reuters quoted him as saying, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

According to Bodnar, investigators will meet on Monday to decide about the ship’s fate.
