Old Russian Proverb: “A Day In The Banya Adds A Day To Your Life”

The tradition of the Russian ‘banya’ or bath house, is an ancient one. The ritual consists of sweating out the poisons in your body (at much higher temperatures than allowed in the US), being beaten with birch leaves, and then cooling off in the snow or icy water. It’s not for the faint of heart! The experience is even more enlightening with lots of Wodka… 😉
