“It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it.”
— Robert E. Lee
As Turkish troops push further into Northern Syria, intent on fulfilling their long-term goal of creating a buffer zone against Kurdish separatists on Turkey’s southern border, the spin machine in DC, NYC, Jerusalem and Moscow cranks up to full speed, pushing the narrative that Putin is now in control of the Syrian sandbox and holds all the cards. That may be very true, but it is also irrelevant.
The United States has 300 years of energy under our feet. Thanks to POTUS, we no longer need Middle Eastern oil.
America has pushed back on the terrorist threat in a major way over the last few decades. It is time to turn the page and use our resources to rebuild our country, not Iraq, Syria or anywhere else, no matter what some CNN talking head, globalist Senator, or Obama general wants. Let them give their first born child as a sacrifice to the Syria gods and then I will listen to their argument.
Donald Trump is right to bring our men and women home.
If ISIS reconstitutes itself, we can return as needed. However, we have allies in the region; ie, Europe, Turkey, Israel. They are fully capable of dealing with the threat all by themselves.
“There’s nothing so much like a god on earth as a General on a battlefield.”
― Michael Shaara, The Killer Angels
Perhaps our Neocon generals like playing god. Our generals, the ones that Obama groomed, seem to want to keep American forces tied up, draining money from our treasury, weakening our deterrent capability against conventional threats. Was that the globalist plan all along?
Bring back the warfighters that Obama fired, or promote those coming up through the ranks over these insubordinate pompous asses (to borrow a phrase from Donald Trump); they understand the horrors of war and are the least likely to push for it.
Don’t forget — Putin has his own problems at home. The Russians are tired of war. In contrast to Trump visiting Dover AFB to meet the transports returning the bodies of our fallen, and witnessing the horror of the families, Russian mothers just get a notice their son has been cremated, if they’re lucky. Or the address of a plot in a local cemetery. Many sons just disappear.
The Kremlin is known to use mobile crematoriums in Donbass and Syria, to take care of any evidence of the dead. The ‘Syria thing’ no longer plays at home for Moscow, not when schools, hospitals, and other social services are being cut drastically. Russian mothers are not thrilled about ramping up conflict in the Middle East with Russian forces, mercenary or otherwise, believe me.
Moscow does not have the force structure to confront Turkey in the south. If they attack Turkey from the north, NATO is bound by treaty to defend Ankara. Putin can do nothing but watch what Erdogan does in Syria.
Despite all the hype, Russia also cannot win an arms race with the U.S., neither can China.
Regarding the other Neocon geopolitical narrative of the day, Trump is too smart for Iran, Russia’s ally, to start another war; we’ll squeeze them slowly into regime change and end the terrorist enabling Mullah’s reign.
Lindsey Graham, the Democratic coup plotters, and the corrupt media will continue to wail and gnash their teeth over their beloved Kurds. I’m well aware American soldiers forged bonds with Kurdish fighters in their war on ISIS, but we are not the Kurdish border force.
How long should the bodies come home? For what? The Kurds? The Syrian border?
We’ve done our part for global security — thousands dead and trillions spent.
Thanks to Donald J. Trump, hundreds of military parents are sleeping much better tonight.
Stop the endless wars.
I can’t wait to see the first bridge POTUS designs… 😉
