After weeks of intense Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have left the war-torn country’s energy grid all but destroyed, the Biden administration, on Tuesday, committed to sending $53 million to Ukraine to repair the power grid that it shares with neighboring Moldova.

The energy assistance package was announced by Secretary of State Antony Blinken at a meeting with Group of Seven members and NATO allies. The State Department said, “This equipment will be rapidly delivered to Ukraine on an emergency basis to help Ukrainians persevere through the winter.” According to the State Department, the package includes circuit breakers, surge arresters, distribution transformers, disconnectors, vehicles, and other critical equipment.

The recent Russian strikes have left Ukrainian civilians without electricity and heat as the country faces plummeting temperatures with the arrival of winter. Facilities that had been affected by the shelling included nuclear and hydroelectric plants as well as electrical facilities. Ukraine’s Energy Ministry wrote about the effects of the Russian attacks in a November 23 post on Facebook saying, “As a result, the vast majority of electricity consumers across the country have been disrupted. There are some emergency outages happening. The lack of electricity can affect the availability of heat and water supply.” The ministry went on to add, “Only terrorists do this to a nation they cannot defeat so they try to simply destroy.”

The damage to Ukraine’s soviet era power grid has also caused power outages in neighboring Moldova.

The total amount of U.S. financial and military aid is set to reach approximately $105 billion if Congress passes the Biden administration’s most recent request for an additional $37.7 billion in aid for Ukraine.

Sick of Ukraine. If they can’t bail their own boat, they aren’t worth the money.

This idiot can send money to bail out the Ukraine, but he’s not doing anything to bail his own people out of an energy crisis. How pathetic a leader is that. Same old bull… all over again. Think of your own people joe, you’re not making points with anyone but you’re ego.
