Russian Lawmaker Warns Russian Girls Not To Have Sex With Foreigners Of Different Race During World Cup

A Russian lawmaker has warned Russian women not to have sex with foreigners during the World Cup, especially those from another race, or risk becoming a single mother. Bearing the children of non-Russians could lead to broken families, Tamara Pletnyova, the head of the State Duma’s Family, Women and Children Committee, warned in an interview Wednesday, reported The Moscow Times.

“These children will later suffer and have suffered in the Soviet era,” Pletnyova said, highlighting a similar trend occurred after the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.

“If it’s another race, then it’s even worse,” Pletnyova was quoted as saying. “We should give birth to our own children. I’m not a nationalist, but nonetheless. I know that the children suffer as well, and then they are abandoned and stay here with the mother.”

She added that, even if Russian women get married to their foreign partners, they could end up living abroad with their spouses and have no idea how to return home, reported RFERL.

“Then they come to me at the committee and cry that the child was taken away, removed, and so forth. I would like people to get married based on love in our country, regardless of which ethnicity, [to] Russian citizens who would build a good family, live in harmony, have children, and raise them.”

Moscow Parks Focus On The Family

More than half a million fans from across the world are expected in 11 Russian cities that will host the football championship between June 14 and July 15, wrote The Moscow Times.

The Russian government has made a large effort to get Russian citizens to have more children, even providing financial incentives to do so. In partnering with the Russian Orthodox Church, Russia has also put major emphasis on family life and has put significant resources to developing parks and other infrastructure to support this agenda.
