The Russian Federation celebrated and remembered the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany where over 20 million Soviet citizens perished, with a massive military parade in front of the Kremlin in Red Square. The event is an annual, Kremlin extravaganza. The ‘Great Patriotic War’ as the Russians call WWII was won by the grit of Soviet forces in Russia’s eyes. The Allied participation came much later in the conflict as they see it.
