Putin Accuses Hillary Of Meddling In Russian Elections

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused the United States of ‘meddling’ in Russian elections in 2003 and 2012. He zeroed in on the actions of Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. Many believe it was Putin’s long memory of Clinton’s actions against him, rather than support for Donald Trump, that caused Russia to be involved in the American 2016 presidential election.

“It has always been this way,” Putin said. “The [interference] in 2012 was particularly aggressive,” Putin said during an interview with film director Oliver Stone.

Declaring that American diplomats funded opposition movements against the Russian government during 2012, he added, “Diplomats should instead be working to establish bilateral relations.

Putin said he did not lose sleep over American politics, offering he “did not pay much attention” to the issue as Russia had “its own business to attend to.”
