Russian President Vladimir Putin today in a speech to the Russian people discussed the attempted destruction of the Christian Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine and elsewhere.
Putin said those tearing down the Christian church — ‘many of them are ethnically Jewish’, but they have no faith at all.
Putin said it is not atheists who are working to destroy the Christian church, as atheists have a faith – of no believe in God, but these people simply have no faith, they don’t go to synagogue, or the Orthodox Church.
Prominent Israeli journalists are pushing back on the statements.
“In his attempt to appear as the protector of Russian Orthodox Christianity, Putin is blaming the people of which ‘many of them are ethnically Jews,’ wrote Amir Tsarfati on his Telegram channel. “It feels like listening to a speech from the 1800s. Same words, same blood libels.”
