Muscovites must now scan a QR code to go outside…but only to the grocery store, medical care, take out trash, walk the dog, go to the pharmacy, or work for instance. Aware of the privacy and freedom implications, most Russians seem happy to comply, even proud of their government taking a strong stand against the Chinese coronavirus outbreak.
This development comes after an initial nonchalant response from the Russian federal government regarding the epidemic.
