Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Osaka on the sidelines of the G-20 summit. The move could be seen as a warning to the U.S. Congress which is attempting to ties President Trump’s hands regarding weapon sales to the Kingdom.

“Yes, contacts are planned,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said when asked whether such a meeting would take place on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan. Peskov added that “active” preparations are being made, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

He also announced a briefing of the Russian Presidential Aide on Foreign Affairs Yuri Ushakov, who would unveil the details of the upcoming conversation. “My colleague Ushakov will give a briefing, he will traditionally speak about the program,” Peskov noted, added TASS.

A bipartisan bill sponsored by Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) is “designed to force a vote on current and future U.S. arms sales and other military support to Saudi Arabia, saying it was time lawmakers checked President Donald Trump’s attempts to bypass Congress on foreign policy,” reported Newsmax.
