The Israeli government has made clear its opinion of George Soros and his appetite for destabilizing governments with donations to Leftist groups. In doing so, the Jewish State overruled recent comments by its representative.
Israel’s ambassador to Hungary recently commented on billboards posted around the country that say, “Don’t let Soros have the last laugh,” and compared the media campaign to the Holocaust, saying it “evokes sad memories but also sows hatred and fear.”
“In no way was the statement (by the ambassador) meant to delegitimize criticism of George Soros, who continuously undermines Israel’s democratically elected governments,” said foreign ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon, adding that Soros funded organizations “that defame the Jewish state and seek to deny it the right to defend itself,” reported Reuters.
Soros is one of the ringleaders of the campaign to delegitimize Israeli control of Jerusalem, the territories, and the basic right of the Jewish State to exist in its present form. In short, Israel believes Soros promotes terror against the Jewish people. The situation is ironic because Soros is a Jew.
Israel has also passed a law to ban organization’s like Soros-funded Open Society, as did Hungary and Russia, that receive a large portion of their funding from abroad.
