Bloomberg is reporting Russia will retain its former military bases in Syria if a new deal can be finalized with the new Syrian government.
The warm-water port at Tartus and airbases as Latakia, and Hmeimim, are strategic to Moscow’s regional interest.
Russian ships have been spotted removing military equipment from the county in recent months.
The development could be part of peace negotiations with the United States behind the scenes to end the Ukraine War, and reshape the Middle East in the face of multiple conflicts.
