Interesting to note that the traditional Orthodox date for “Christmas” (The Feast of the Nativity) is January 6/7 (Gregorian calendar) which is December 24/25 on the Julian calendar). So, this fact of Christmas on Gregorian 24/25 in the Lavra suggests a theological change to bring it more in-line with the West and distance part of Ukrainian Orthodoxy from the Patriarchate of Moscow, religion as a weapon in a “Kulturkrieg” acerbating a growing schism in Orthodoxy planned by politicians not churchgoing believers in Christ.
