Russian officials released a summary of the meeting in the Kremlin between Trump envoy Steve Witkoff and Vladimir Putin and staffs, to discuss ending the war in East Ukraine.
The main statements of Ushakov after Putin’s meeting with Whitcoff:
▪️Putin’s negotiations with the American delegation lasted about four hours;
▪️The Americans shared information with Putin about Trump’s meeting with Zelensky in Davos;
▪️It was agreed that the first meeting of the trilateral working group of Russia – USA – Ukraine on security issues would take place in Abu Dhabi on January 23;
▪️The head of the GRU, Kostyukov, will lead the Russian negotiating team in Abu Dhabi;
▪️After the meeting with Whitcoff, Putin gave instructions to the Russian delegation, which will fly to Abu Dhabi;
▪️Dmitriev and Whitcoff will meet in Abu Dhabi as heads of the bilateral working group on economic affairs;
▪️Russia stated that without a solution to the territorial issue, it is not worth expecting a long-term settlement in Ukraine;
▪️Russia will continue to address the issue on the battlefield until a settlement is reached;
▪️The topics of the Peace Council, Greenland and a number of others were raised at Putin’s meeting with the Americans in the Kremlin;
