Beginning February 20th, the Russian Federation will prevent Chinese citizens from entering the country; the ban is temporary and is meant to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The suspension will be for Chinese citizens entering Russia for employment, private, educational and tourist purposes. The suspension will be temporary, read an official statement, reported The Moscow Times.
“The restrictions will not affect transit passengers,” Russian authorities added.
Russia had previously sealed the border with China in Siberia.
