Czech soldiers train Afghan military police
3 soldiers from the Czech Republic were killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan today. The men were part of the NATO contingent in-country fighting the insurgency, called the ‘Resolute Support Force’. They died while on a patrol with American and Afghan forces. One America and two Afghans were injured, reported RFERL.
Czech Prime Minister Andres Babis called the men ‘heroes’ in a Twitter post.
Je mi moc líto úmrtí našich tří vojáků v Afghánistánu. Hrdinů, kteří bojovali proti teroristům tak daleko od vlasti a které zavraždil sebevražedný útočník. Vážím si toho, co udělali pro naši zemi. Vyslovuji svou nejhlubší soustrast jejich rodinám a pozůstalým.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
“Their sacrifice will endure in both our hearts and history and further strengthen our resolve,” declared U.S. Army General John Nicholson, commander of Resolute Support and U.S. Forces-Afghanistan.
