Russian President Vladimir Putin once again trotted out the usual Kremlin ploy to attempt to get the United States to stop its war games in South Korea, which keep U.S. and R.O.K. troops ready to counter the threat from the North, as they have done for decades. Saying America and the DPRK were “balancing on the verge of a large-scale conflict,” Putin offered a solution consisting of in return for exercise cessation, the North would cease its nuclear missile development.
The idea possibly might be a good one if the North had not consistently broken every agreement it has ever made, especially in the face of Western olive branches starting with Bill Clinton. Kim Jong-un simply cannot be trusted.

“It is essential to resolve the region’s problems through direct dialogue involving all sides without advancing any preconditions (for such talks)…Provocations, pressure, and bellicose and offensive rhetoric is the road to nowhere,” read Putin’s statement on the Kremlin’s website, reported Zero Hedge.
“Russia believes that the policy of putting pressure on Pyongyang to stop its nuclear missile programme is misguided and futile,” he wrote in the article sent to media in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – the BRICS member states, reported Al Jazeera.
Russia Warns Trump On North Korea Strike
“The region’s problems should only be settled through a direct dialogue of all the parties concerned without any preconditions. Provocations, pressure and militarist and insulting rhetoric are a dead-end road.”
Former Trump chief strategist, Steve Bannon said this in an interview with American Prospect, reported Zero Hedge,
“Until somebody solves the part of the equation that shows me that ten million people in Seoul don’t die in the first 30 minutes from conventional weapons, I don’t know what you’re talking about, there’s no military solution here, they got us.”
Of course, in Putin’s mind, China and Russia would broker the deal between the U.S. and North Korea. In other words, the West should just trust Kim Jong-un and stop preparing to defend against an invasion from the North, as they did in 1950. This is not a responsible action for the president of the United States to take.
