The President of Russia – Vladimir Putin sent a “congratulations letter” to Emanuel Macron in order to compliment his winning the French presidential election. Putin sent a telegram to Paris warning Mr. Macron voters now trust him to lead France “at a difficult time” – reports the Kremlin press service.
“The citizens of France have entrusted you the leadership of the country at a difficult time for Europe and for the entire international community,” said Putin adding that the growing threat of terrorism and destabilization of the regions, it was “particularly important to overcome mutual distrust and unite efforts to ensure international stability and security.”
The president of Russia “confirmed his willingness to have a constructive and joint work with the president of France on bilateral, regional and global issues.”
As the Kremlin press service reports, Putin is sure that his comments address the fundamental interests of Russian and the French people.
Putin also wished Emanuel Macron health, well-being and success in “a such responsible position”.
Putin was regularly accused of supporting Marine Le Pen’s campaign throughout the year.
