“Did you manage to talk to Trump?” – Journalists shouted to the president, who was leaving dinner at the Elysée Palace.

“Yes,” Putin replied.

However, earlier the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, said that the two presidents had no opportunity to talk, reported Russian news outlet Interfax.

“Putin and Trump only greeted each other literally on the go during the dinner. There was no possibility to speak,” he said, adding that after the working breakfast Putin headed for the international peace forum.

“Trump left the Elysee Palace. They told each other ‘Goodbye,’” Peskov noted, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

“Anyway, we agreed that we will not violate the receiving party’s schedule here. At their request, we will not organize any meetings here,” Putin said. “Such a meeting may be held on the sidelines of the G20 meeting or later,” declared the Russian leader.
