Netanyahu Visits Orban In Hungary, Refutes Anti-Semitic Narrative

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Budapest, Hungary today for meetings with the government of Prime Minister Viktor Orban this week. The trip comes at a touchy time as the Hungarian Jewish community is upset over a media campaign against Jewish financier George Soros, who the Hungarian government sees as a threat to power, due to his subversive activities in Hungary and other parts of Eastern Europe.

“Andras Heisler, president of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities, told The Associated Press that he had recently asked the Israeli government to explain to his group why Israel shifted its position on the Orban government’s ads targeting George Soros, whom Orban — radically opposed to migration — largely blames for Europe’s migrant crisis,” wrote Associated Press.

Earlier this month the Israeli ambassador also criticized the media agenda against Soros but changed his position later due to Soros seditious activity in Israel as well. The ambassador essentially said Israel of course condemns anti-Semitism but that does not take away from legitimate criticism of Soros behavior and the activity of his NGOs.

The Hungarian Jewish community wasn’t happy, “The Israeli foreign ministry’s clarification … in part surprised us and in part was hugely disappointing,” Andras Heisler, president of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities, told The Associated Press. “The Hungarian Jewish community felt that we were left in the lurch,” reported Associated Press.

Netanyahu is most likely looking for regional support against the BDS movement, which pushes to boycott, disinvest, sanction Israel.

Much of the conflict Hungary is experiencing with the European Union could be traced back to the Soros agenda of open borders, illegal immigration, destruction of Western culture, and socialism.
