“We strive to strengthen economic cooperation which, as of today, is very weak. Following this first economic cooperation council meeting we will start intensive work to find the proper sectors where there is opportunity to improve trade relations,” said Georgia’s Economy Minister Giorgi Gakharia on the meeting with Moldova’s Regional Development and Constructions Minister Vasile Bitca.

During the meeting both countries have signed an agreement to establish a joint economic cooperation council.

The ministers talked about how to further develop existing relations and boost export opportunities. Main focus of the meeting was ideas on how to deepen cooperation in the fields of transport, tourism, energy, innovations, environmental protection, culture and education.
