Russian forces are now pushing heavily to control the village of Ugledar in Donbass, an important outpost for the Ukrainian defense. Fighting is now active inside Ukrainian lines, and Ukrainian forces are beginning to withdraw. Other Donbass locations along the front line continue to fall to Russian troops.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in New York to participate in the UN General Assembly.
President Trump has said he will not meet with Ukrainian President Zelenskiy in the U.S. as previously reported. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is also ‘not sure’ if he will meet Zelenskiy, citing the hurricane approaching Florida as one reason.
