KYIV – Roaming bands of ‘recruiters’ now cover the streets of Ukraine, looking for any male possible to send to the meat grinder, to die in a period of days, sometimes hours. Reports of hundreds, and sometimes thousands of daily deaths are being seen on the Ukrainian front.
You can always tell the loser in a military conflict in how they treat their people, as a war of attrition sets in and the male population is destroyed completely. The movie ‘Cold Mountain’ details the South in the American civil war using similar tactics to find bodies for the war machine.
Russia, for its part, has been largely spared this phenomenon, due to the Kremlin’s very successful mobilization propaganda campaign, and Moscow’s 8 to 1 population advantage. Medical exams for victims of bounty hunters is a joke – 15 min (weight, height, teeth) and – off you go to the polygone or 3 days to reach the front-line.
