A prisoner exchange looks to be in the works today which will see the release of Wall Street Journal Reporter Evan Gershkovich from a Russia prison, possibly in exchange for multiple Russian nationals being held in US jails, reported WSJ.

American Marine and accused spy Paul Whelan may also be released, as well as other Russian prisoners the West would like to see freed.

Tsarizm has reported heavily on the Whelan situation.

A TASS reporter verified that the US Federal Bureau of Prisons removed data about Russian nationals Alexander Vinnik, Vladislav Klyushin, Vadim Konoschenko and Maxim Marchenko from its electronic database, which normally contains their whereabouts. A search for these names in the database now returns no results, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

The Russian Embassy in Washington refrained from any comments on the possibility of a prisoner exchange.
