Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been outspoken since arriving at the annual Qatar Economic Forum (QEF) about his stance on the war in Ukraine and NATO and the West’s relentless support of Zelensky and the resulting escalations with Russia. Orban has also blatantly stated that the Ukrainians are not able to defeat Russia without the assistance of NATO troops, which the alliance is unwilling to send and which Hungary is staunchly against.
The Prime Minister also reiterated that Hungary is not part of the “mainstream” European Union response to the war and instead has attempted to bring about an end to the conflict through peaceful means.
“The only solution is ceasefire, and then after the ceasefire, peace talks should start,” Orban said.
Orban went on to say that “the only way out” of the war is for the U.S. and Russia to make a deal to end it.
“Looking at the reality, the figures, the surroundings, the fact that NATO is not ready to send troops, it is obvious that there is no victory for the poor Ukrainians on the battlefield. That’s my position,” the prime minister said standing alone from the view of other EU leaders.
“The war can be stopped only if the Russians can make an agreement with the U.S. In Europe, we are not happy with that, but it’s the only way out.”

While Orban’s perspective of the war has always been unpopular, his remarks at QEF come days after Russia’s paramilitary group, Wagner, took control of the strategic eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut over the weekend. Wagner is expected to hand over the captured city to Russian military forces on June 1, according to a report by Zerohedge. Meanwhile, Orban’s assistance that a peace agreement is the only way to end the war is looking more accurate by the day.

Victor has been spot on trough and through.
No peace agreement with Putin will be worth the paper it is written on. Orban is an idiot, as are everyone else pushing for “negotiations” with a man that ca not be dealt with in good faith.
