On Thursday, another Russian train derailed in Crimea in what many sources are describing as sabotage. According to a statement released by the Crimean Railways, the derailment was caused by “interference from outside persons.” No specifics of the alleged sabotage have been released.
At approximately 8:00 am local time, eight train cars jumped the track outside of Simferopol in south-central Crimea. The train was reportedly carrying grain when it derailed. Several sources have reported that the disaster was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that was placed under the track, according to Zerohedge.

While not directly taking responsibility for the train derailments, Ukrainian Defense Intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov has claimed that the tracks could have broken due to the freight train potentially carrying heavy military weapons and equipment.
Thursday’s derailment in Crimea is one of several derailments over the past month that were caused by IED explosions in the Bransk region. The Kremlin has accused Ukraine of conducting cross-border sabotage campaigns on its infrastructure including its railways while oil facilities have also come under recent Ukrainian drone attacks.
