On Tuesday, Alexander Bortnikov, the head of Russia’s FSB security service, accused Ukraine and its Western allies of operating a clandestine program that recruits Russian youth to carry out armed attacks.
“In the conditions of Russia conducting the special military operation, Ukrainian special forces and their Western curators have launched an aggressive ideological indoctrination and recruitment of our citizens,” Bortnikov said prior to a National Anti-Terrorism Committee meeting in Moscow.
“Especially the younger generation, to involve them in sabotage, terrorist and extremist activities,” Bortnikov added without providing any form of evidence to support his outlandish accusations.
While it is unclear specifically what the official was referring to, it is believed that he was referencing a cafe explosion that killed Vladlen Tatarsky, who was a well-known Russian military blogger, on April 2nd. Tatarsky was killed when a young woman, who has since been detained, handed him a bust of his likeness that was loaded with explosives and detonated 5 minutes later, killing the blogger and wounding more than 30 others.
The Kremlin has also accused supporters of imprisoned Putin critic, Alexey Navalny, who it has referred to only as “young people and teenagers, including minors,” for being responsible for the shocking political assassination of 29-year-old Daria Dugina, who was the daughter of Putin ally Aleksandr Dugin.

Dugina was a well-known political commentator who echoed her father’s philosophies. She was also an outspoken supporter of Putin’s government and the military invasion of Ukraine, which she argued was the rejection of Western expansion and influence in Eurasia. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has also accused Ukrainian and Western intelligence agencies of executing the recent terrorist attacks
