Pro-Ukrainian forces with ties to the Crimean-based Atesh partisan group have claimed responsibility for an attack that left a railway line in the Bakhchisaray district near Simferopol City, Crimea, damaged on February 23, according to Inkerman.
While no injuries were reported in the attack, rail travel within the region was disrupted for several hours mid-morning on February 24.

The nature of the sabotage is disputed, with Atesh claiming that it mined the rail line, while Russian officials have said that the saboteurs only cut the line.
Despite which account is accurate, the risk of partisan and sabotage activity targeting energy infrastructure and transportation in the area remains high as the war between Moscow and Kyiv continues.
