The last leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, who made peace with Ronald Reagan, and oversaw the dissolution of the USSR, has died after a long fight against kidney disease. He was 91.

Gorbachev will be buried in the center of Moscow at Novodevichy cemetery where there is a family plot at the convent complex. He will be buried next to his wife Raisa.

The former President of the USSR went into the hospital for dialysis and did not survive.
