The renewed fighting in the Soviet ‘frozen conflict’ of Nagorno-Karabakh has hit civilian areas especially hard. The capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, Stepanakert, has been shelled repeatedly.

This is becoming an information war in addition to a hot conflict, with both sides jockeying for position with world opinion.

Armenians accuse Azerbaijan of shelling only civilian areas primarily, as opposed to confronting military units.
