The Dutch Parliament has rejected the motion of a deputy for not enlarging the European Union with Albania and North Macedonia.
The motion was launched by MP Thierry Baudet and sent to parliament on November 11th. Only 49 deputies voted in favour of it out of 150 in total.
On November 3, the Dutch Parliament discussed the Dutch government’s assessment of the European Commission’s progress report on Albania. The Dutch government underlined the importance of establishing the Constitutional Court in Albania, amending the media law according to the recommendations of the Venice Commission and continuing to work on fighting organized crime and corruption.
