Those alive during the closing years of the Soviet Union remember the nuclear explosion at Chernobyl, Ukraine. The world didn’t know at the time what happened but off-the-charts radiation began to be recorded in Western European capitals.
Something had happened.
The remains of the nuclear plant are now covered in a protective shield that should last 100 years as the radiation slowly dissipates. Below is a video where one reporter entered the structure and went deep inside.
