“If you want to have an arms race we can do that, but I’ll win,” Trump reportedly told Putin during a March 21 call to congratulate the Russian president on his election victory, according to two White House officials cited by NBC. The network also reported the Russian president’s display of weaponry “really got under the president’s skin.”

Trump also told Putin that he wanted Russia’s help in solving problems such as East Ukraine, Syria, and North Korea. President Trump also remarked that he hoped the simulations Putin showed were election rhetoric and nothing more serious emanating from Russia, reported Reuters.

It remains to be seen if the Western media will give President Trump credit for confronting Putin’s actions.
