Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree to establish biometric controls for all foreign nationals entering the country stating January 1, 2018.
The government in Kyiv is also revising its immigration risk classification for certain nations, including the Russian Federation. Poroshenko gave officials one month to develop a plan to implement the procedures.
Two months from now, all procedures are to be in place for the program. All new visitors to Ukraine will be required to present an International passport with chip installed, reported Russian state news agency TASS.
