Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan Will Increase Cargo Load On TMTM


Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan are going to increase freight shipments to the European Union by ensuring uninterrupted traffic on a regional railway. They’ll join forces to make sure transit of goods between member countries on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) increases.


Today Heads of all four countries’ railway administrations met with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, where future plans of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route were discussed.


During today’s meeting, the four countries agreed to expand the geographical area of the routes and enter the European Union (EU) within the TMTM.


The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route runs through China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and then through Turkey and Ukraine to Europe at the moment.

The railway authorities assume it is important to create better conditions for transport service consumers in order to raise the competitive advantage of the TMTM in the corridor.
