US Strikes ISIS In Unmanned Attack On Planning Cell, Target Reported Eliminated

The US has killed an Islamic State planner in Afghanistan in retaliation for Thursday’s suicide bombing in Kabul, reported Sky News.

Captain Bill Urban, spokesman for US Central Command, said: “US military forces conducted an over-the-horizon counterterrorism operation today against an ISIS-K planner.

“The unmanned airstrike occurred in the Nangahar Province of Afghanistan.

“Initial indications are that we killed the target.

“We know of no civilian casualties.”

The Pentagon says the United States conducted a drone strike targeting an IS-K planner in eastern Afghanistan, it says the initial indication is that the target was killed. Follows attack on Kabul Airport that killed 13 U.S. soldiers and 160+ Afghans.
