Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly disagreed today with the hugely famous, English pop singer Elton John over gay rights and propaganda. The Russian government censored John’s recent film Rocketman, taking out gay sex scenes and pro-LGBT comments at the end. John was critical of the Kremlin over the issue and Putin’s comments that ‘liberal ideas’ had harmed Western culture and civilization, and were being rejected.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that Elton John was “mistaken” about LGBT rights in Russia, while praising the British singer as a musical genius, reported The Moscow Times.
“I have a lot of respect for him, he is a genius musician, we all enjoy his music, but I think he is mistaken,” said the Russian president.
Putin said Russian authorities had a “relaxed and unprejudiced” attitude towards LGBT people, but decisions about gender identity could only be made by adults and therefore minors need to be “left alone,” added The Moscow Times.
Although there is frequent violence and discrimination against gays in Russia, the actual law itself, hated by the LGBT community, only says that gay propaganda cannot be taught to minors.
The Kremlin has worked to promote closeness with the Russian Orthodox Church and for strong families, in part, to reduce Russian demographic decline.

I agree with Putin on this one. Thumbs up.
.
This has become a universal phenomenon and Mr. Putin is absolutely correct in his analysis of the LGBTQ+ movement. World leaders, artists and media personnel highlight this movement, thinking themselves enlightened, at the expense of heterosexuality and traditional family values. Hopefully this too will pass.
