U.S. President Donald Trump has made a public sensation about his ‘great relationship’ with North Korean dictator Chairman Kim Jong-un. This is a negotiating tactic of course, a farce. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin is having none of it, and made sure the world knows he has a bromance with Kim too during their meeting last week in Vladivostok, Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had “personal chemistry” at their summit in Vladivostok last week, Russian Ambassador to Pyongyang Alexander Matsegora told Russian news agaency TASS on Monday.

“I highly appreciate the outcome of the summit, without any exaggeration this has been a historic summit,” Matsegora stressed. “This was the first meeting between our leaders, and I felt that during this meeting they had personal chemistry. This was what Moscow had said ahead of the summit : “we expect that the two leaders will have personal chemistry.”

“They frankly discussed the issues of bilateral agenda and international security,” Matsegora said. “The sides’ positions on many issues were close or coincided.”

According to the head of Russia’s mission to North Korea, he returned to Pyongyang “in a very good and upbeat mood.” “I have the task now to start implementing the agreements reached by the leaders,” he stressed. “These are important agreements in many areas. Now we will turn up our sleeves and start working,” wrote TASS.

“Putin Shows He’s Best Buds With Kim Too”

Well of course he is, and if I was Putin I’d be doing everything to interject myself into the US/NoKo process. Gives me leverage and it gives me influence. If I was Kim, I’d be doing everything to ingratiate myself to Putin (after all NoKo and Russia have been allies since 1950) since I would want to be playing Russia off against the US. That’s what I’m good at. It’s a no-brainer.
