Russia ended its blockade of the Kerch Strait by removing the tanker which had blocked access under the Kerch Bridge to reach open sea. Moscow still holds a couple dozen Ukrainian sailors as well as three Ukrainian naval vessels.
Why Russia’s Kerch Strait Clashes With Ukraine Matter
Russian news outlet RIA Novosti confirmed Moscow had reopened access to the Sea of Azov for all traffic. A line of freight vessels had been created by the blockade which will now be defused.
The Kerch Strait is now open and ships are passing under the #Russia-built Kerch bridge, according to local Crimean news site KerchFM. Russian-backed "Crimean Sea Ports" says passage is open for civil navigation.https://t.co/VkxyBIzIOfhttps://t.co/4Rjsz5y2GS
