Moscow exploded into one big street party this week as Russian won its second game against Egypt and advanced in the World Cup playoffs. 40 million people in the greater Moscow area went out into the night to express their joy. The Russian people have had years of bad news and belt-tightening and the World Cup win was like a huge release of pent-up tension.
One person in Moscow said to Tsarizm, “Lots of happy people everywhere. It’s like a big holiday everywhere you look!”
