The identity of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s younger daughter has been corroborated. Katerina Tikhonova was outed as possibly the daughter of the Russian leader two years ago but Reuters confirmed this fact with World Rock’n’Roll Confederation (WRRC) Vice-President for Legal Affairs, Manfred Mohab over the weekend.

“Reuters identified Tikhonova, who works at the prestigious Moscow State University, as the younger of Putin’s two daughters in November 2015. State-owned Gazprombank’s senior executive Andrei Akimov and two anonymous senior academic sources confirmed her identity to the agency at the time,” wrote The Moscow Times.

The official spoke to Reuters on the sidelines of a rock and roll dance festival in Moscow and twice answered, “Yes,” when asked if Tikhonova was Putin’s daughter.
Tikhonova, 31, is also WRRC’s vice president for expansion and marketing, reported Reuters.
Tikhonova is married to Kirill Shamalov, the son of banker and longtime friend of Putin, Nikolai Shamalov, whose family is worth $1.32 billion.
President Putin was previously married to Lyudmila Shkrebneva but was divorced in 2014. They have two daughters. Putin has been rumored to be involved with, and possibly married, to former Olympic gymnast, Alina Kabayeva.
