The United States of America will offer a grant of 4,2 million US dollars to the Republic of Moldova for developing a democratic and transparent governance. On September 14th, the Government of Moldova approved the decision to initiate negotiations and sign an assistance agreement to realize “an efficient, democratic and responsible governance,” reports Moldova.org.
The 4,2 millions will be used in the process of involving the citizens in the decision-making process, ensuring a transparent and responsible justice system, creating optimal conditions for the public authorities to solve citizens’ problems.
Moreover, the agreement stipulates that the cooperation relations between the US and Moldova would contribute to consolidating the civil society, the democratic processes, improving the efforts to the reformation of the justice sector, fighting corruption and increasing the credibility in the electoral processes, reports Moldova.org.
The assistance agreement will be signed at the end of September 2016 and will last until June 30th 2021.
