The NATO Summit in Brussels this week was turned into another opportunity to push the aggressive pro-War policies of the rulers of the United States and the European Union. Ignoring the basic principles of the Alliance, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba was invited to the summit to discuss the war in Ukraine during a session of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg proclaimed that “NATO will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.” The NATO foreign ministers discussed helping Ukraine to phase out Soviet equipment in favor of NATO-standard weaponry in the latest move to escalate the conflict.

Hungary objected to the entire pro-war spectacle in Brussels. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó rebuked NATO leaders, saying “The invitation of Ukraine’s foreign minister to the NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting is a violation of NATO’s unity. Hungary will only support Ukraine’s integration endeavors if they restore the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia.”

The Hungarian and Romanian minorities living in Ukraine are being oppressed by the Zelensky regime. They are being denied to education in their native languages and to basic religious liberties. There is also evidence that officials in Kiev have been using the cover of the war to carry out a policy of ethnic cleansing against minority groups in the country.

Szijjártó had hoped that no one would question the validity of a previous joint decision that NATO is not part of the war being waged and that everything must be done to prevent a direct conflict between NATO and Russia, but NATO is no longer hiding the fact that it is at war with Russia.
