According to Moscow, the British ambassador will be called upon in the “near future” to be presented with “evidence” that the UK’s military assisted with a drone assault on its Black Sea flagship on Saturday. While the Kremlin has not offered up any proof as of yet, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova said, “The UK ambassador will be summoned and will be given the appropriate materials” at some point “in the near future.”

According to Zakharova, the alleged evidence will be made publically available once the British ambassador has been presented with it. In a statement released by Moscow on Saturday, the Ukrainian drone strike was launched by the Ukrainian army “under the leadership of British specialists in the city of Ochakiv.”

The Guardian reported that the Russian Black Sea flagship, the Admiral Makarov, was damaged during the drone assault on the Crimean port of Sevastopol. The extent of the damage is uncertain but it is believed to have been extensive enough to possibly have disabled the ship. Unconfirmed reports indicate that its radar systems were destroyed and that the hull was breached. The flagship is one of three ships that were reportedly hit in Saturday’s drone attack.

Russia has also recently accused British special operatives of orchestrating the blast that sabotaged part of the Nord Stream pipelines in September. There have been no clear indications of what “evidence” the Russians have regarding the Crimean drone attack or when exactly the British ambassador will be summoned to Moscow.
