Late on the night of October 30, 2026 Polish police moved on the Constitutional Tribunal in Warsaw. The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, was traveling abroad at the time, on his way to Senegal. He ordered his presidential aircraft to be turned around so that he could return to Poland immediately. As the Polish Head of State he was needed in Poland overnight. He wrote, “In such a moment, the president must be in Poland. I am interrupting my flight to Senegal. I am returning.”

Łukasz Bernaciński, a constitutional scholar, notes that on the night of Oct 30 Polish police took control of the empty Constitutional Tribunal building in Warsaw. He said the Tribunal’s security, its vice president and director were refused entry to the building, and that police were covering their ID numbers and names on their uniforms. According to Bernaciński the actions of police represent the final stage of undemocratic seizure of power. He cited Article 128 of the Polish penal code, which provides up to 20 years in prison for an attempt to remove a constitutional body of the republic by force.

Warsaw police have described their actions on the grounds of the Constitutional Tribunal last night in a different way. They explained that they were just doing their statutory duties on the grounds of the Tribunal and that they had not entered the empty building. Objects were thrown at the police during the demonstration of a group of people outside the Tribunal. Polish Radio quotes PAP news agency saying that it was at the request of Tribunal judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska and Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek that police were sent to the Tribunal.

Bernaciński said the Tribunal’s website then carried a statement suspending the Tribunal’s President, Bogdan Świeczkowski, on an order signed by Anna Korwin-Piotrowska. He said she was elected a judge but has not taken the oath required by the statute before her term began, and that she named herself acting president. He said she was escorted into the Tribunal by officers of the State Security Service and police followed them. The Minister of Justice, who is also the prosecutor general, has filed a motion to waive the immunity of President Świeczkowski in a case in which the alleged victim is Korwin-Piotrowska, the same person who, Bernaciński said, suspended the legal President of the Tribunal and took his place.

The Poland that L Todd Wood wrote about in a series of articles from Warsaw in December 2023, was a Poland on the brink of collapse under the weight of a globalist government, he said. Poland’s Christian culture and heritage would be lost to the ages and the Polish nation itself would cease to exist as a sovereign entity. The Polish state as it had existed for centuries would be lost. Instead Poland would become just another country in Europe, ruled from Brussels and devoid of any real sovereignty. A generation of young Poles would be fed a constant stream of propaganda extolling the virtues of Brussels and denigrating all things Polish.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk this month promised that his government would in every possible way reestablish the legal order in Poland. The reason for this promise was the refusal of President Nawrocki to accept the oaths of the judges of the Constitutional Tribunal elected by the Parliament. Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek stated that the Tribunal must now start to function in accordance with the law. The above-mentioned actions of the government have been described by the Polish opposition as a coup d’etat. In his dispatches from Warsaw in December 2023, L Todd Wood warned that the globalist government that was about to be established in Poland would be the end of free Poland. CDM led that coverage.
