Donald Trump has picked Jon Huntsman to be ambassador to the Russian Federation according to White House sources. Huntsman has been a former ambassador to Singapore and and China under Republican and Democratic administrations. He is a former presidential candidate and governor of Utah.
Huntsman is currently the head of the think tank, The Atlantic Council and backed Trump early in the election before pulling his support after the Access Hollywood tape broke of Trump locker room talk.
Huntsman is a multimillionaire and was said to be the favorite to take Senator Oren Hatch’s job as the next senator from Utah. He is a multimillionaire from the family business which has operations in Russia.
Huntsman’s selection as ambassador will probably take him out of the Utah Senate contest, reports Bloomberg.
