3 African Migrants Gang Rape Hungarian Woman In Germany

Hungarian woman gang raped in Germany by migrantsA Hungarian women was attacked and raped by three Eritrean men in the German town of Mühlhausen, over the weekend, according to a local newspaper, reports Hungary Today.

The three migrants from the country in northwestern Africa, were arrested on Sunday and are currently in detention as the trial goes on, Thüringer Allgemeine reports.

The Hungarian woman who has allegedly been raped in Muehlhausen in central Germany’s Thuringia state has not turned to the foreign ministry so far for consular assistance, Tamás Menczer, the ministry’s press chief, told MTI on Thursday. Local daily Thueringer Allgemeine said on Tuesday that three Eritrean men raped a Hungarian woman in Muehlhausen early in the morning on Saturday. All three suspects have been taken into custody, it said. The paper said no information was provided by local police and the prosecution about the reason why “the woman coming from Hungary” was staying in the city, reports Daily News Hungary.

According to chief prosecutor Harko Krieg, the crime took place in the early hours of Saturday morning at a bridge near the town’s railway station. He added that all three men, who are to be put on trial after the police investigation ends, arrived to Hungary from Eritrea

Menczer told MTI that the German police had not notified the Hungarian embassy about the incident since it would only be obliged to do so at the victim’s request. The Hungarian foreign minister instructed the country’s ambassador in Berlin immediately after learning about the incident to contact local police, Menczer said, adding that the ministry is waiting to receive information. The Hungarian embassy in Berlin is making every effort to contact the victim and provide her help in every way possible, he said.
