France Decides To Confront Iran

Trump and Macron

The French government has decided it has no choice but to confront Iran after a blatant terror attempt on French soil during the summer against the main Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mujahideen of Iran, which held a massive gathering in Paris in June. The question now becomes what will France and the rest of Europe do with the remaining shreds of the Iranian nuclear deal.

For The Trump Administration In The Middle East, It’s All About Iran

Yesterday, France’s Macron government seized Iranian intelligence agency assets as well as those of two foreign nationals saying, “Behind all this was a long, meticulous and detailed investigation by our [intelligence] services that enabled us to reach the conclusion, without any doubt, that responsibility fell on the Iranian intelligence ministry,” reported Reuters. The source, speaking after the government announced asset freezes, added that the deputy minister and director general of intelligence, Saeid Hashemi Moghadam, had ordered the attack and Assadollah Asadi, a Vienna-based diplomat held by German authorities, had put it into action, Reuters added.

The rest of the Western world already knew about the foiled terror attempt, as well as the arrest of two Iranian agents in Washington, D.C., targeting resistance figures, and another foiled attack against the PMOI in Albania in March. Both events were attended by the president’s lawyer, Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

In addition, a German court decided this week to allow the extradition of Mr. Asadi to Belgium to face justice for the attempted Paris bombing.
Despite these horrific crimes, Europe still wants to do business with Iran — principles of freedom and the rule of law be damned. Indeed, it is getting harder and harder to justify such behavior, and many European companies are simply not trying to, and are removing themselves from Iranian commerce.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran put out a statement on the French decision and called for action against the regime in Europe, reading in part, “The decision for this terrorist action had been made months ago by the mullahs’ Supreme Leader (Ali Khamenei), the regime’s president (Hassan Rouhani), its ministers of Foreign Affairs (Javad Zarif) and Intelligence, the secretary of the Supreme Security Council, IRGC commanders, the Quds Force, the IRGC Counter-Intelligence and the security-political deputy of Khamenei’s office; the Minsitry of Intelligence was tasked to execute the plan…To prevent the Iranian regime’s terrorism in European countries, the EU declaration of April 29, 1997, must be enforced in dealing with the MOIS intelligence personnel and agents.”

Once Again, The U.S. Has Israel’s Back

It is obvious the Iranian regime is criminal. It is time Europe woke up to this fact, put monetary and financial considerations aside and joined President Trump in confronting this evil government.
