On Tuesday, March 14th the Pentagon released a statement about a Russian fighting jet colliding with a drone operated by the US military over the Black Sea. The impact caused the drone to crash and it has not yet been recovered.
What is being called one of the deadliest earthquakes of this century left over 25,000 dead so far and 80,000 injured, mostly in Turkey. 870,000 people are in urgent need of food. The rescue teams are still working around the clock and finding survivors. Syria is being overlooked.
A 7.5 magnitude aftershock hit 10 hours after the first earthquake. So far 243 aftershocks were recorded. 1,200 rescuers and 70 dogs pulled over 8,000 people from beneath the rubble. 19 countries are actively involved in helping Turkey and Syria. 380,000 people are looking for refuge.
In an interview with TV presenter Dmitry Kiselyov, the Russian Foreign Minister spoke on the situation in Ukraine and made somber predictions about the fate of Moldova. He accused President Maia Sandu of “doing almost anything,” even uniting with Romania, to get NATO protection. His statement hit a chord with many who know Moldova was part of Romania until 1940. The people of Moldova speak Romanian, have the same religion, and keep the same traditions as all Romanians.
